Camp Appalachia is a collaboration between the Appalachian Studies Center and the College of Education’s Gifted Endorsement Program at the University of North Georgia. Camp staff includes Gifted Endorsement professors, other UNG professors, master teachers, community volunteer experts in Appalachian skills, and Gifted Endorsement candidates.

2021 Topics (Subject to change)

• The Barn: animals, farming, the land, herbs, etc.

• The Fireside: Music & Dance

• The Mine: Gold, gems and more

• The Shed: Games & crafts

Virtual Only - $100

Camp Appalachia is designed for rising 3th through 5th grade Gifted and Talented students.

(Note: campers must be 8 years old by June 14th, 2021 to participate.)

In Person Experience:

Students who attend in person will:

• Receive highly focused gifted instruction

• Experience history through arts & crafts

• Have access to all online materials

• Share their knowledge with the UNG/Dahlonega community through a museum experience

Virtual Experience:

Students who attend virtually will:

• Receive materials in a kit

• Have access to online content all summer for personalized pacing

*Note: Parents of virtual campers must pick up materials from UNG in person June 10-18.
